Man Utd Lunchtime Round-Up, Saturday 24th October 2026: Carrick Backed by Lammens Amid Pressure on Coaching Staff

Goalkeeper Senne Lammens has publicly backed Michael Carrick, saying the squad are "united" and stand behind him following a turbulent week at Old Trafford, according to Sky Sports (Sky Sports).

That show of support comes amid growing scrutiny of Carrick's position, with Manchester Evening News reporting that his future as part of the coaching staff is under question after a heavy Champions League defeat to Como (Manchester Evening News).

Away from the first team, former United defender Tyrell Malacia has opened up on a difficult period following Ruben Amorim's arrival, describing the experience of being frozen out in the club's so-called 'bomb squad' as "mentally tough" and saying he was given no explanation for his exile, as reported by Manchester Evening News (Manchester Evening News).
