It's a tense one at Carrington today after United's heavy 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League, with the club's chiefs reportedly making their way to the training ground to discuss Michael Carrick's position (Manchester Evening News) (Manchester Evening News). The sense is that the manager has been pushed right to the brink following that result (Manchester Evening News).

Bruno Fernandes is also said to be at Carrington amid the crisis talks (Manchester Evening News). The midfielder was left out of the matchday squad entirely as an unused substitute during the Bournemouth loss, and has now appeared to aim a subtle dig at the club on social media, which will only add to the sense of unrest behind the scenes (Manchester Evening News).

Elsewhere, it seems United have missed out on what's being described as a major, record-breaking opportunity, with the deadline passing for a move involving JJ Gabriel, who is still looking to leave his current club (Manchester Evening News).
